Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
The LORD makes firm the steps of those who delight in him; though they stumble, they will not fall, for the LORD upholds them with his hand.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to condemn it but to save it through Him.
May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our ancestors; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD evil is avoided.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret– it leads only to evil.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
